CG148 first went on sale at the pre season friendly at Farsley Celtic in mid July 2008. Most of the transfer talk during the close season was about the possible return of Darren Moore. The saga seemed to go on for ages but just before this issue went to print, he accepted an offer at Barnsley. Moore who is a good friend of City's assistant manager Wayne Jacobs and both are born again Christians and I was inspired by the idea that he'd be torn between rejoing City to help them gain promotion from league two or join championship side Barnsley. Maybe he did seek divine intervention in making his decision to move to Oakwell?

Articles that appeared in CG148 are: Straight From The Bantams Beak (Mike Harrison), Midland Road Mutterings (Jason McKeown), The Damned Elland Road (Mike Harrison), When Football Was Cool (Chris Armstrong), Say Hello (Mike Harrison), Bradford's Non League Scene (Dave Keegan), A Lament For Shoot (Chris Armstrong), And The Winner Is... (Mike Harrison), Very Much So I Fancy (Chris Armstrong), We Saw Him First (Mike Harrison), The Kids Are Alright (Chris Armstrong), Fire Memorial Thoughts (David Pendleton), On Your Bike (Simon Ashberry), Whatever Happened To The Good Old Days? (John Armitage), Tom Hallett - An Honest Pro and A True City Gent (Mick Illingworth), Tales From T'Net (Mike Harrison), Something In The Air - Chapter 11 (John Holman and Counsel&Criticism (John Watmough).

CG148 is a 76 page issue and a few copies remain and are available at 50p each plus p&p

Cartoon from 149

CG149 first went on sale at Elland Road on the 2nd September 2008 at the Johnstone Paint Trophy game. Having been thumped 4-0 at our other West Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town in the League Cup 1st round, City fans were demanding a much better performance against Leeds. The last time City played there we were thumped 6-1 in our penutimate away game in the Premier League in May 2001. During the first half Stuart McCall and Andy Myers came to blows and now with Stuart in charge of City I thought he could be give an inspirational, but mildly threatening team talk to the City players.

The list of articles in CG149 are as follows: Straight From The Bantams Beak (Mike Harrison), BCST News (Russ Spence), Midland Road Mutterings (Jason McKeown), How I Failed The Life Laundry Test (Chris Armstrong), When We Last Played (Mike Harrison) Quoth The Bantam Nethermoor! (Dave Jennings), A Modest Entrance - But Not Annan-mous (Chris Armstrong), Gimmer Gibber (Mick Dickinson), Bradford Aggro (David Pendleton), Risky Business (Paul Firth), Say Hello (Mike Harrison), An Obituary With A Difference (Mark Neale), Friendly Relations (Mark Neale), Grumpy Old Fan (John Armitage), Crunch To Bite At Foot Of Football League (Andrew Hebden), Beautiful South - Northen Scum (David Pendleton), Down At 'Udders (Alan Parkinson), Reflections Of My Life - Chapter 12 (John Holman), Counsel&Criticsm (John Watmough)
